To be saved by grace is to be saved by him - not by an idea, doctrine, creed, or church membership, but by Jesus himself, who will sweep into heaven anyone who so much as gives him the nod.
Andrew sees the same situation, but he does something different…
Not perfect. Not fully figured out. But a willingness to bring what you have to Jesus and trust him with it.
It’s not much. It doesn’t solve the problem. But he brings it anyway.
That’s what real faith does. It trusts Christ fully, and it brings whatever little we may have to Jesus, believing that as the Son of God, he can do great things with it.
Who is this Jesus?
Is your faith something we just say, or is it also something people can see?
Two things stood out to me. The lad—can you imagine how he felt to see his small offering feed so many? (I also wondered why he came prepared and no one else did).
And I also thought about all the times bread is part of the story: manna from heaven for the children of Israel wandering through the wilderness, part of the Last Supper, “give us this day our daily bread” to name a few.
God gives me what I need and uses what He gives me.
Very good approach to that event ,i never consider that Andrew knew was not enough but he bring it anyways ,meaning how we suppose to approach Jesus amen
Jesus made me a new creation! His blood and resurrection united me with Him. We are family! Everything He does and achieves, He allows me to share! All He wants from me is faith alone. His righteousness is imputed to me! O praise Him! Whatever Jesus accomplishes is counted as mine! I believe in Jesus!
